The connection from the fuse housing (i assume that's what it is) snapped from corrosion. Long story short, blown the fuse that is located on the battery wires that connect to the battery.

You have to replace the whole plastic piece because the fuses are actually part of the connector. Problems associated with fusible links might be a bit difficult to detect, but they are fairly easy to fix.
